Souvlaki

A traditional dish consisting of pieces of meat grilled on a skewer and served with pita bread, fried potatoes, lemon, and sauces.

Souvlaki is a pretty big deal… In fact, it’s widely recognised as the world’s first street food!

With origins stretching back 4000 years to ancient Greece, the word souvlaki is synonymous with Greek food. In fact, the Greek word souvla (or σούβλα) literally translates as “skewer” in reference to the slices of grilled meat placed on a small wooden skewer and cooked over an open grill.

Today’s popular Souvlaki is the perfect combination of soft, handmade pita bread wrapped around lightly chargrilled meat and served with an array of salads and sauces.

Gyros

Meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie, typically served wrapped in a pita along with ingredients such as tomato, onion, and tzatziki sauce.

Our traditional gyros are made from the highest quality, locally

sourced meat. This is cut into thin, flat slices, which are then stacked on a spit and seasoned with spices like cumin, oregano, thyme and rosemary.

As the cone turns during cooking, the lower parts are basted with the juices running off the upper parts, creating a deliciously soft, seasoned meat.

Our gyros is served inside a lightly grilled piece of pita, rolled up with thinly sliced tomatoes, chopped onions, lettuce, and fries, and topped with traditional tzatziki sauce.

DESSERTS

Loukoumades

Our homemade loukoumades are a collection of small, round, deep fried pastry balls (similar to a donut) which are filled with your choice of milk or white chocolate, or drizzled with a beautiful lavender syrup.

We top our loukoumades in the traditional Greek way with cinnamon and walnuts for extra heat and crunch.

You’ll find loukoumades all over the world, but in ancient Greece these deep-fried dough balls were served to the winners of the Olympic Games and they are often referred to as the ‘Judge’s Morsels’ for this reason!
